Learn some Puerto Rican lingo for your trip to PR

Even though the primary language in Puerto Rico is Spanish, followed by English, and a whole lot of Spanglish of course, there are a few words and phrases that are just straight up Puerto Rican. And as a Puerto Rican-born and raised woman who has used many of these phrases countless times myself, I’m going to let you in on a few Puerto Rican words and phrases you can say on your next visit.

πŸ’¬ Janguear = To hang out

πŸ’¬ Corillo = Group of friends

πŸ’¬ Esta nΓ­tido = It’s cool

πŸ’¬ CoΓ±o! = Damn it!

πŸ’¬ Guagua = Bus/SUV

πŸ’¬ Al garete = Crazy

πŸ’¬ Jartera = Eat a lot of food

πŸ’¬ TapΓ³n = Traffic

πŸ’¬ Brutal = Awesome
