Learn some Puerto Rican lingo for your trip to PR
Even though the primary language in Puerto Rico is Spanish, followed by English, and a whole lot of Spanglish of course, there are a few words and phrases that are just straight up Puerto Rican. And as a Puerto Rican-born and raised woman who has used many of these phrases countless times myself, I’m going to let you in on a few Puerto Rican words and phrases you can say on your next visit.
π¬ Dame una Medalla – Give me a Medalla beer
π¬ Janguear = To hang out
π¬ Corillo = Group of friends
π¬ Esta nΓtido = It’s cool
π¬ CoΓ±o! = Damn it!
π¬ Guagua = Bus/SUV
π¬ Al garete = Crazy
π¬ Jartera = Eat a lot of food
π¬ TapΓ³n = Traffic
π¬ Brutal = Awesome
