Thai dishes you MUST try in Thailand

I’ve always been a fan of Thai food. And visiting Thailand gave me the opportunity to try so many delicious dishes!

But, not gonna lie, I’m a bit of a picky eater so I didn’t try every Thai dish either. I stuck to a few dishes I knew and tried a few I didn’t that I ended up loving. Maybe one day when I return I’ll have the courage to try even more new Thai dishes, and update this blog post with even more recommendations.

But based on what I did try, here are a few Thai dishes I highly recommend.

Khao Soi

Khao Soi is a northern Thailand soup dish made with egg noodles, crispy noodles, coconut milk, and yellow curry, to name a few of the main ingredients. It’s usually made with chicken and it’s not too spicy, although you can make it as spicy as you want. And it is DELICIOUS! Take it from this picky eater.

Fried rice dishes

Fried rice is tried and true. They have seafood fried rice, chicken fried rice, pineapple fried rice, egg fried rice, and so many more options. But my absolute favorite was the seafood (or sometimes just shrimp) fried rice. Also, fried rice with garlic shrimp (pictured above) was literally my most ordered dish in all of Thailand.

Pad Thai of course

You can’t visit Thailand and not have a Pad Thai dish! They are delicious, a bit nutty, and usually VERY affordable. They also come with different proteins like shrimp, chicken, and beef.

Tom yum spaghetti

Tom yum spaghetti is made with chili paste, veggies, and seafood. It is a bit spicy but totally worth it. And you can always pair it up with spring rolls to balance the spiciness with something sweeter.

Thai mangoes

From just mango slices to mango smoothies, and even mango sticky rice (a VERY popular dessert dish in Thailand). Thailand offers a lot of fruits to try, but I have to say that mangoes were the best. Although I may be biased cuz I already loved eating mangoes back in Puerto Rico.

I hope this list opened up your appetite and made you want to visit Thailand even more. Don’t forget to BOOKMARK this blog post so you can have it handy on your trip to beautiful and delicious Thailand.
