I’ve thought long and hard about where I want to start my digital nomad travels.
And one thing was always top of mind – warm weather. ☀️🏝
So as an island girl myself I’ve decided that no matter where I go, I’m going to make sure I go during the summer season or go to countries that stay warm all year long. My other priorities are beautiful beaches, great food, and a good cost of living! And of course, I have to consider that I want to spend around 2 – 4 months in each country, and what the covid restrictions are on each. 🦠
So with all that in mind, here’s a list of the countries and cities I want to live in during 2022:
The first stop in my digital nomad journey is the city of Bangkok for a month, then travel to Chiang Mai for a month, and finally move to Phuket for the 3rd and last month of my 3-month long stay in Thailand. All 3 cities have been recommended by other digital nomads and I think each city will give me different glimpses of the culture and landscape of Thailand. I’m so excited to start my journey in the beautiful country!!!
After Thailand, the next county I want to live in is Vietnam. I want to start my journey in the south of Vietnam, in Ho Chi Minh City for 6 weeks, before traveling to Da Nang, a beach city in central Vietnam for another 6 weeks. Both of these cities have been recommended by other digital nomads as well, and each city seems to have its individual charm, so I can’t wait to explore them both. Also, while in Da Nang, I want to visit Hoi An, a nearby ancient town that looks absolutely beautiful.
The city that truly inspired this whole lifestyle I’m pursuing is Bali, Indonesia. If you’ve heard one thing about Bali, I bet it was something wonderful about its beaches, its culture, or the transformative energy that Bali seems to exude. And I can’t f*cking wait to live in Bali for 3 – 4 months. Originally the first place in my digital nomad plans, I had to push visiting Bali a few months because of the ongoing covid restrictions in place at the moment. But rest assured that I’ll be there later this year. And if you’re interested in joining me in Bali in late 2022, check out my Travel With Me page to learn more and sign up for more updates.
Malaysia, or more specifically the city of Kuala Lumpur, is my “backup” plan in case I have to make a last-minute trip to a country that doesn’t require a visa for tourist visits less than 90 days long. With that being said, I still plan to visit Kuala Lumpur and live there for a few weeks in early 2023, assuming everything goes according to plan.
Also, can you believe I already basically “planned” 12 months of my life?
